Joe McInnes
(Preview)
My favourite player, as a boy, was Wee Joe McInnes. What a player he was! If he'd played with one of the old firm, I'm sure jinkin' Joe would have been capped for Scotland. I've heard the old-timers talk about Stanley Matthews and the way he had such control over a ball that it was as if...

Jimmy Mason ......
(Preview)
Yes, I had the great pleasure of watching the maestro in action, a wee man, shorts a wee bit too long, a face that you could see in any pub in Glasgow, but what a player!! if he had played for the "big two" clubs, he would have been an automatic starter for Scotland for many years. He could gather the ball from...

Before the game
(Preview)
Before games at Cathkin Park featuring Third Lanark. Was there a favourite pub in the south side that most fans used to go and visit before the games?

Hope I have spelt his surname correctly.
A real legend for the HiHi, apparently this was his favourite team and was really devastated at the events of 1967. Used to go to Cathkin to see Thirds play all the time when he was a kid.
I reckon if Thirds had carried on after 1967 he would have become a l...

Max Murray
(Preview)
Discussion on the Rangers board about Max. Remember him playing for Thirds and shoulder -charging goalie into the net - goal stood! No way nowadays!
Also remember him after training at Cathkin hitting 9 irons from one end of pitch to the other -aparently he was fine golfer.
Remember his ni...

CATHKIN VISIT
(Preview)
Went over to Cathkin on my recent trip to Scotland.Very sad to see state of the place although was able to recognise various parts of the terracing where I used to stand.A few boys were playing on the pitch and I told them that up to 40,000 would be in the ground for some games . Dont think they believed me !

Hi Fans,
You will all have seen the Press & TV coverage about the possibility of a Thirds revival. It would be great if you would all give me your own thoughts & comments on this. For example where would the Club re start its life etc.
If I get y...

Matt Balunas.
(Preview)
Hi Everyone.
I was saddened to read of the death of former Thirds right back - Matt Balunas, who was a real star in the sides of the forties & fifties.
Matt joined Thirds from Newarthill Juniors, in May, 1943, and went on to provide almost uninterrupted service in th...

Junior was one of my Hi Hi favourites of all time and a terrific full back who had a great partnership at the back with Joe Davis.
He was certainly one of the most consistant performers at Cathkin and i guess I was really pleased for him when Rangers took him to Ibrox (althoug...

Claim to fame
(Preview)
I was privileged as a 9 year old boy in 1963 to witness unbeknown to me then what was to be the onset of the last four seasons in the life of this illustrious football club. I had been to a couple of matches near the end of the previous season just at the break up of what was arguably the greatest ever Third Lana...

Maybe not as well known as some of the others, but John also known as Jackie Campbell was my great grandfather played for Thirds during the period 1901-1904 and is one of the reasons why, despite sadly them folding before I was born, that I have a great affection for this team and welcome any attempts to g...

Football Hall of Fame
(Preview)
Does anyone know if any Third Lanark palyers or managers have been included in the Scottish Football Association Hall of Fame?
We know Jimmy Mason should have been, but for some reason was not, but it would be interesting to see if any other members of the HiHi had been included.
