Went over to Cathkin on my recent trip to Scotland.Very sad to see state of the place although was able to recognise various parts of the terracing where I used to stand.A few boys were playing on the pitch and I told them that up to 40,000 would be in the ground for some games . Dont think they believed me !
Who owns the property now and what plans if any are in the works?
Yes it can be a shock to the old system seeing the ground as it now is, but i bet you spent some time going over those games one more time
As far as i'm aware the City Council own and look after Cathkin although i believe the ground has changed hands a couple of times over the years. The fact that there are no houses on it makes me think something more sinister awaits the place.
I hope you managed to go to the Museum at Hampden while you were here as not only could you possibly have met Bob Laird but you could have viewed some good old Thirds memorabilia.
