As you may realise from my username I have connections with Third Lanark,my father was Bill Hiddelston.
Thankfully I was young at the time and so did not realise what was happening just that I was a wee ballboy and my memories were all good.
As the years have gone on I still think back now and then and wonder what might have been as I was given a players contract at the age of ten as I had a good left foot!!!
It's good to see that some people still keep the name alive and have fond memories of Cathkin.
A controversial addition to the forum or what...not quite sure how the troops are going to take this.They are going to take some winning over bud so i hope you've got some heart warming stories that don't include your old man...btw were you the small or smaller one? I guess you've identified yourself now but it might be easier to take if you changed your 'handle'!!!!!!
I'm the youngest one and please don't paint me with the same brush as the old man,not my fault I was born a Hiddelston!!
Anyway my mother still has a lot of newspaper cuttings which I must have a look at and see if theirs anything worth posting it's a long time since I looked at them.
If you want me out of the forum just let me know and I'll go and no offence will be taken.
It was a surprise seeing your name here but it is good of you to be honest. I think everyone realises you are not to blame for the actions of your father. It would be great if you could put some of the Thirds memorabilia online for all to see as you can gather a number of our posters are overseas.
Any comments about Bill Hiddelston I make are not aimed to hurt yourself so please dont take offence. I think a lot of people would be interested to know why he did what he did and really how could he justify ruining one of the oldest and most proud football clubs in the country? As the board of trade Investigations, Football historians, former palyers and fans point to him as the main architect assisted by others about the destruction of the club.
As I say I think a lot of fans would be curious to know why he did what he did and if he felt any remorse? As Is ay please dont take offence as it is not aimed at you at all and as I say we look forward to reading your memories of the players, Cathkin etc
You could be the guy who misses the penalty that means Thirds lose the "cup", but you should be welcomed by all no matter your name. Welcome, and I hope we get to speak to you more often.

I came accross a scrap book the other day at my mothers (we were having a clear out as she is moving down south) and it is full of newspaper cuttings.
I will have a good look through it and post anything worthwhile. One thing that surprises me was the amount of news they used to publish in those days that was pretty uninteresting.
It would be nice if we could all meet sometime in the future and share memorabelia,stories etc;
