Companies House

Upon a search of the Companies House website, I was interested to note that in 2005 someone set up a company known as Third Lanark Football Club to an address in Dundee. Does anyone know tje person behind this? If it is a frmer supporter of the legendary club. Of course the new club set up by Peter Docherty kept the correct original name of Third Lanark Athletic Club, so I suppose a number of variations on the great Third Lanark name could be used

Strange one this. Can't really see the point in it unless someone fancies buying say Dundee FC and changing their name!! It does give the holder the Thirds name in that form and should the day ever dawn when some disgustingly rich person (ie me should i win the £125m euro lottery..please god!!) fancies resurrecting the club then there may be a bit of hassle registering the name.

Fingers crossed

It may that it was an original Thirds supporter who registered the name and has moved up to Dundee. Interestingly enought he has registered it as Third Lanark Football Club. The proper name was Third Lanark Athletic Club and this was registered again in 2004 by Peter Docherty with the SFA for the new Thirds team that was set up. I would be surprised if there were any problems bringing the name back by anyone I think everyone would just be glad to have the legendary name back in Scottish football.

Yeah fingers crossed one of us win the National lottery would defintiely invest some in Third Lanark as well as some star palyers for Partick Thistle
