... and how about a shocking tackle disbelief on McCormick (at 6:59 ) that went unpunished only for celtic to get a free kick instead moments later for something innocuous! sack the ref!

Robertson/Ramage/Mitchell MacGillivray, Caldwell, Davis Reilly,McCormick, Macallum, Lewis, Cunningham, Geddes, Jackson Goodfellow (deceased), Hilley, Harley (deceased), Gray,McInnes, Buckley, Murray, McMorran,Graham. Just some of the players I remember from the early sixties. I wonder where they are now.

For a young fan like my self it great to see this footage and see this great club cutting it with the best in the scottish league...... but my question is how can you go from drawing with celtic and having a great crowd like that to liquidation 3 years later ? HiHi

In the same way the blue half of the old firm are currently also spiralling towards liquidation and possible oblivion in the space of 5 months - all you need is one corrupt chairman and it can happen very quickly indeed.

Airdrieonieans FC went to the wall in the same year that they finished in 2nd place in the league behind winners Partick Thistle.

... interesting to note that the HiHi went to the wall in 1967 for just over £40,000 - most players in the EPL make this amount (or more) each week.
