Third Lanark night out

Hello all,
As previously mentioned about plans to trya nd start a Third Lanark supporters association, I am plannign to ahve a get together on Wednesday 30th November. Have booked the Community hall at Cathkin Park and Bert has kindly agreed to bring along his exhibition cards etc.

I have provisonally booked the hall for two hours from 7-9pm. The hall costs 15 pounds an hour for hire, so if everyone wants to bring a pound or so. Jsut intend it to be a relaxed evening talking about Third Lanark etc and a chance to meet some of the people on the forum or the likes of Peter Docherty etc who are involved with the new club.

PTL

I work away from home periodically through the week so i cannot at this moment say whether i will be able to attend or not...be a last minute decision.

Do you think it might be an idea to get some kind of head count as to numbers who'll make it along just thinking there's really only 3 or 4 regular contributors to the forum and not all of them are local!!...might be better hosting this in N America

I know a few people who dont have access to the internet who are interested in going.
Theres a few recent signups to this forum who will be more that welcome to come along. It doesnt matter who if you support another team jsut as long as you have an interest in the HiHi as well,a s recently we have had Celtic, Hibs, Rangers, Hearts fans on here so the more the merrier. As I say a Third Lanark appreciation society can have a number of benefits remniscing about the grand Old team and also helping establish support for the new team. Hope you can make it along Bigeye mate.

Cheers
PTL

Here are a few suggestions that Bert Bell has made for the format for the night out:We could have an Agenda along the following lines -

Third Lanark A.C. An OPEN MEETING FOR ALL INTERESTED IN TAKING A WALK DOWN CATHKIN'S MEMORY LANE..

1. WELCOME TO ALL.

2. A 10/15 MINUTE BROWSE AROUND THE 8 PICTORIAL CARDS FEATURING OVER

100 ITEMS ON THE CLUB.

3. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS FROM THE FLOOR.

4. DISCUSSION ON THE CONTENTS OF FUTURE MEETINGS.

5. WE COULD DISCUSS - FAVOURITE GAMES, FAVOURITE CHARACTERS, CATHKIN

CAPERS etc etc.

Providing our idea takes off satisfactorily, I would bring along a few videos of highlights of Thirds in action etc - although this would require a tv/video combo.....

The above is just a few ideas for you to think about along with your own suggestions etc.

I believe we can have a great night's chat amongst former Fans of the Hi Hi's.

Hi Panda,
It did happen but was a very low turnout. Howver we are arranging another for the end of January and this time will be advertising better through local papers and more notification of the website as this was generally the only website that was used.
More details of the new event when we book the venue

Thanks PTL, I'm so sorry it didn't work out, I would've been there but it's a helluva trip from the U.S. Maybe it'll be better next time!  How about emailing one of the local sports writers? Lot of "human interest" there surely. Just a thought.

Cheers PANDA
