It would appear that there seems to be some major redevelopment work planned over the next few years in the Toryglen - Mount Florida area of the city due the M74 link road, an extension to Langside College, a major 250ksq/ft Retail Park,new schools, new housing and other building develpoments and all this within an area encompassing you know where. A horrible thought naturally comes through my mind...and i'm sure you're ahead of me...that there must be a distinct possibility that Cathkin Park could come under the hammer again (literally this time!).
I would expect to most developers that Cathkin is an eyesore the Citizens of Glasgow wouldn't miss but to the handful of 'dreamers' out there it might just herald the end of an era..no longer having that spiritual home to visit for those few quiet moments with Davie Hilley, Max Murray, Bobby Evans, Jimmy Mason et al...

I recently took as visit to Cathkin and if any company out their wants to destroy that wonderfull park they should be taken round the back and shot. My Father remembers going to watch the Gers at Cathkin and he says it was one of his fav grounds.
