HiHi league Champions?

As you have probably seen the Third Lanark managers Peter's post.  The HiHi have just two more games left this season.  The final one is this saturday at Cathkin Park this saturday, kick off at 12:30pm!  They only need one more victory and that will be them have won the league, so this saturday should be a great day at Cathkin!

Its a fantastic acheivment to think this team in their first year under the great Third Lanark name and all credit to Peter and the team for this and also for keeping the great name going!

Well done all

Third Lanark 1-1 Paisley United

Champagne on ice as the Hi Hi were held to a draw.Difficult conditions with the old pitch unusually bumpy and Thirds having to play the entire second half with 10 men as the No2 was off injured and there were no subs for the Hi Hi...obviously the new Thirds are equally as impoverished as the old Thirds!!!
Anyway an excellent game with all credit to the Hi Hi who should win the league next week...good luck.
Nice to see the 'RED' gracing the old ground.

Also liked the HiHi banner there as well.  Thirds at one stage only had 9 men on the pitch as another player was inujured for a bit.  Where abouts were you standing mate?  I was on the terracing behind where the Thirds manager etc were standing.

As you say Champagne on ice, but hopefully for not too long

I was in the same area at the top of the terracing with my son who quite fancied pulling on the jersey and giving the Hi Hi a hand in the second half .

It certainly brought back memories standing on the terracing again and actually watching a match and a very enjoyable one at that. The team worked very hard for each other in the second half and with a bit of luck could have got the win they needed as the chances were certainly there.

It would have been great if the lads could have done it on the day and i got the impression talking to a couple of the team afterwards that they were a bit down (naturally), but i'm sure the manager will have them buzzing again (and hopefully with some subs to call on!!) for the big shoot out.

I was standing jsut a few feet in front of you in that case.  I was talking to a fella who was standing beside me.  He worshipped the HiHi as a kid and went to see them all the time until 1967.  He is now a season ticket holder at Firhill.  He was taking some photos to email to his mate in Austraila who was also a massive Thirds fan.

Hopefully see you at the next game.  Where as you say hopefully they will have more players though reckon they will be recruiting a lot more during the summer.

Best Wishes

PTL
