There are Third Lanark fans logging in daily to this site ... it would be nice if you guys could log in and say Hi-Hi !

Registering is a 2 minute process ... simply go to the new member section of the log in box (top right on your screen on the welcome page) and, once the single page is completed, you'll have instant access to posting messages on the forum.

Hi Topcat.

You are so right, it would be great if everyone did just that and  shared their Cathkin views with us all.

With Clyde,  Livingstone & others  finding themselves  according to the Press in  the danger zone, we are all reminded of the potential disappearance of our favourite Clubs. I sincerely hope a repeat of the Hi Hi story, does not happen again.

Recently I was interested to read of Celtic's thinking with regard to having their reserve side play in the SFL 3.  At the time of Thirds' crisis, I put forward a tongue in cheek proposal to the Press, suggesting that Celtic or Rangers could have easily bought out Thirds' debts, sacked the  Board, and applied for permission to the SFL to  use  Thirds as a feeder Club, but allow them to operate in the then second Division  under the name of Third Lanark of course with accepted necessary restrictions.of Terms  & Conditions.

Perhaps  not a practical  ,  even  a crazy suggestion, but at least we would have been left with a Club, whilst the takeover  "Principles," would have enjoyed developing their "reserves" in a much more   competitive , challenging . &  beneficial way.  All Grounds within touching distance of each other.

In fact is there very much difference between this type of  move, and the  situation prevailing in the forties & early fifties, when  Queens Park, were virtually a feeder club for the big two - with the annual transfers between them hitting high figures on occasions.

Many  obstacles would have had to be overcome  - What do you think ??

Bert.
