hi i am loking for some information on a player called jimmy connor who played for third lanark in around 1930. any info would be great as he was my uncle .thank you
Johnny Connor signed for Thirds from Airdrie in the mid thirties, and proved to be a prolific "old fashioned" centre forward. He was at Cathkin for a couple of Seasons, when he topped the charts as leading scorer on both occasions.
I do not have specific dates etc, but I hope we are speaking of the same player, who was idolised. He was small of stature but built like a tank - not to be messed about. I certainly have fond memories of Johnny CONNOR>
Like so many players of that era -at the outbreak of WW2, his career was cut relatively short with Military Service.
