Thirds narrowly lost to Whitehurst in the cup on wednesday. To be fair Whitehurst are a couple of leagues ahead of them. Hopefully be a much more level playing field on saturday where we face the might of Busby at Cathkin Park kickoff is 2.30pm. Hope to see as many of you there as possible on saturday to get behind the Hi-Hi!!!!
Thirds 1-4 Busby 1-1 at halftime and things looking ok but lost the place in the 2nd half. We had a fair bit of the ball but Busby were dangerous on the break (aye all breakaways ) although we did have chances which should have been put away and would have changed the complexion of the match. Entertaining stuff and btw i thought the ref was excellent (don't say that often). Good luck for the rest of the season.
Thanks Bigeye, To be fair Busby ahve been on the go for sometime, our Manager Peter Docherty has been away on holiday so we have been struggling a bit without him. Also a lot of new players are in the team so still starting to get to know each other.
Hopefully be a different story at our next home game at Cathkin in 2 weeks time. Apart from posting messages on here I havent ahd time to contact any former Thirds fans who dont have access to the internet about the games, want to do that before the next game soa s to build up a bigger crowd. Bumped into Bob Laird at Hampden so him and a couple of mates should heopefully be coming along. There was a couple of supporters standing near to the Thirds subs on the touchlines, were you the guy standing at the terracing on the Cathcart road side of the ground?
I was that man yeah must have missed the goal being chalked off...too busy conducting the choir behind me ...what a crew about 7 or 8 young girls all pissed out their heads and eventually falling all over the place...sad to think Cathkin is reduced to this on a Saturday afternoon . Anyway hope to catch another match sometime through the season. Good luck to the lads (and the Jags) for the rest of the season. Cheers bigeye
Thanks for the best wishes bigeye. Would be a season of football heaven for me to have a team with the name Third Lanark playing and hopefully winning the league and if Partick Thistle were to win the First Division and dare I say the Scottish cup or League Cup or both Good luck to the Pollok as well
