Channel 4 Short Film on Thirds

Someone has made a short video (4 mins 45 secs) on Thirds. It is available at the following link:  http://www.channel4.com/fourdocs/film/film-detail.jsp?id=32025

There is some archive footage from a Morton v Thirds match.

Hi,
What a brilliant wee film. Very poignant. Great to see the legend Ally McLeod in his scarlet Thirds strip with badge and a packed Cathkin v Celtic. It's a wonder there has not been a full length documentary on Thirds given their historic importance to the Southside community and the circumstances of their destruction by corrupt directors in 1967.
I also wonder where it would be possible to get hold of more footage of the Hi Hi in action. I'm sure their must be lots of film in the BBC and STV archives. It would be wonderful to trawl through that! Again, great find.

Hi Neil,

I heartily agree with your sentiments, but I can also confirm that over the last 30 years, I have tried intermittently  if  unsuccessfully ,to obtain available highlights from both STV & BBC.to add to my current collection.

On my files I hold  letters from each Company to confirm that Third Lanark films, video footage is definitely not available, and whilst sympathetic to all my pleas for help, they simply cannot  assist in my search. I have also tried unsuccessfully in contact with British Movietone News, Pathe Gazette, and other more locals News/Sports units to  obtain any  such items on Thirds.

Personally I remain convinced that there are "highlights" around, but apparantly not for me.

Of course I'll keep trying, and if successful, will arrange for a future  Evening Event, of Thirds in Action...
