Bob Laird

Considering this is THE Third lanark forum/website there is one person who should be gracing these pages and is not yup Bob Laird Mr Hi Hi. He is the man with all you ever wanted to know about Thirds and more yet we have no contact with him through this media.

I spoke to Bob a few years ago and queried why he never put any of his vast array of memorabilia on the internet and his reply was that he wasn't into that kind of thing!!! blimey what a loss for us all. I was at one of his 'shows' in the Dixon Halls some years ago (yeah the old supporters club and AGM venue) and his display virtually took up all the floor space...this is what we're missing.

I'm being selfish here i know but i want to see his stuff at the push of a button and to be able to access his knowledge and read some of his stories on these pages.

Bert you have his ear...any chance of convincing him of the merits of the internet... there's a pint in it for you

Can but hope

I agree whole heartedly Bigeye, it is such a shame not to pass in this kind of stuff! Tell me, is Bobs book available anywhere? Maybe Bob is "computer shy"as I was but Iwould love to share some stories as this was such a big part of my life!

If you have any problems getting a copy let me know as i would be happy to get one to you.

Have you got Bert Bell's book 'Still Seeing Red' ? another must have.

Definitely recommend the book Bigeye.  Its made by the same company as made Bob Pictorial history of Third Lanark.  Have seen both books in WH Smith on Argyle Street, Borders On Buchannan Street and Waterstones on Sauchiehall Street.  Also both are available in the Museum Shop at Hampden and as Bob works there he they are usually signed.

Thanks for the best wishes to the Jags I think they will need all the best wishes they can get to try and turn around the disastrous last couple of years.

Purchase made and so far a good read...pity the 50 matches weren't all in the one season   I recall the Thirds 9-1 Forfar in '65 and if my memory serves their goalie was dire but couldn't remember that we scored 8 of the goals in the second half. I recall a few weeks later we played Alloa and humped them 7-1...things were looking good for a return to the 1st division!!!!

Yet again worth a purchase and a chance to see what you missed crossing the pond
