Third Lanark - Groundsman - Circa Mid Forties.

Hi Guys,

I am seeking help from former Hi Hi fans of the forties here.  I have received a letter from the Daughter of  a  former Third Lanark groundsman (circa mid forties.)  Apparantly her dad  George Coutts Wright - known as " Dod" worked on  Cathkin's first class playing surface then  and Isobel  is keen to learn  anything about his time with Third Lanark.   It's a long shot, because my mathematics confirms that a  regular Cathkin attender of that time would now be well into his/her seventies.

Can anyone help with any facts concerning George / Dod Wright?

It  amazes me that the name of Third Lanark still evokes memories  of yesteryear  to so many folks around the world.

Bert.

Hi Bert

I got your name from someone (goalie I think) from 3rd Lanark.  My Dad died last month and going through his things we found shares in 3rd Lanark and some info that could suggest my Great Grandfather Rayside Matthew Brown was on the Board of Directors.  Do you have any info regardings this - it would be a great help?
Thanks
Ali

Hi Ali,

Reference your request for help on your Great Grandfather possibly being a Thirds Director, please  send an e-mail to bertatcathkin@aol.com  with details.  Whilst  my Records of board members are not great I would be happy to check up on this  - Can you give me an  approximate time span here  - eg. 1910/1915 ???? or...........       Bert Bell
