'Yesterday's Heroes' article featured Tony Connell with a few reminiscences of his days at Cathkin. Signed in 1963 and farmed out to Strathclyde Juniors with 4 or 5 other Thirds hopefuls he eventually made the 1st eleven when i guess Joe Davis went to Hibs. At the 'end' he signed for St Mirren who were concerned that they could be heading for extinction too considering Tony had seen off both Thirds and Strathclyde Four seasons with Saints and two with Queen of the South and then three with Pollok.
