Will the league organising committee allow us to play some of the cancelled games midweek on an artificial (and floodlit) surface?
The backlog is now stretching back 7 or 8 weeks and it will be a nightmare waiting until end April / May for lighter evenings to get the games on grass.
I was at the game on Saturday v Moorpark..first game I've been to...left Whitburn at 1.15...I underestimated the traffic and got there about 2.15..no sure how much of the match I missed but it might've started later than 2. Anyway...the header from the corner scored by the big centre half was a peach..although unchallenged he made it his....Third seemd a physically stronger side but the visitors had a couple of players that were capable of some nice stuff on the right wing. I left just when they scored their penat my end of the ground (east)...had to leave for a last minute thing. Efter comin aw the way through tae. Glad they won.
There were only about 5 folk watchin and about 10 young guys...one of who smashed a buckie bottle into the terracing..which made me sad/angry/uneasy. However the team look good...and I will be back...I got an idea of what it mustve been like even in the mid 60's wi the sparse crowd. So if you ever see a guy standin on his own or maybe wi his Da...it might be me...just gies a shout. Cheers.
By the way..it was a better gemme than the Live Thistle gemme at Livi....murder. Thank god we got through on Tuesday. Jags and Hi Hi forever.
Next time your at the game, come over and have a word. We were all standing in front of the terracing. Unfortunately the neds were behind us on the terracing, while through time we hope they will leave, right now theres not to much we can do about it. However because of the fact we are all standing in front of them they wouldnt dare do anything and at times they can be as quiet as mice. Theres a few younger fans standing beside ourselves at the touchlines and the lads from Edinburgh couldnt make it through last saturday.
Anyway mate next time your through, head over and I will introduce you to the supporters/management. I was the tall lad with the black Thirds jacket on and my red Thirds top underneath it. Co Manager Pat McGeady was the one with the white Third Lanark away top on.
