Our 40th Anniversary Event went well . Close to 100 attended, with 8 players delighted to join us.
A full report will be submitted later, but for interest the following players were in attendance -
John McCormick. Wattie Dick. Jimmy Duncan. George McCallum.
Willie Cunningham, Peter Dallas, Ian Hilley Johnny Graham.
Wattie Dick & Jimmy Duncan were unable for health reasons to speak to us, but their presence was equally valued by the fans. We enjoyed from others some wonderful tales of their days in Scarlet.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the event on Saturday, and congratulate everyone involved in the organisation. To hear the humility of John McCormick, the enthusiasm of George McCallum and the great entertainment value of Willie Cunningham was terrific.Add in the contributions from all the others and it made for a memorable night.Looking around the room seeing the audience with there ties and badges showed what an indelible legacy Third Lanark has left. Thanks again to one and all.
On thinking about the events,I looked out my old scrap book with its numerous pictures, newspaper game reports, newspaper pictures of goals scored, articles of varied subjects and a few programmes and wondered if anyone would like them.It may give someone else an hour of pleasure.
Many thanks for your very encouraging words. The response on Saturday was great and well worth our efforts. I would be delighted to see your Scrap book etc and if that is ok please contact me on e- mail Bertatcathkin@aol.com
Thank you for organising Saturday's event and my thanks also to everyone else who made it such an enjoyable evening. It was brilliant to see so many players and to reminisce, i even spoke to someone else who had seen Jimmy Goodfellow play for the Scottish League! Proudly wearing my new Thirds tie.
